Community Meetings
General band meetings, information sessions, engagement meetings and annual general meetings.
One Arrow holds several different kinds of meeting, and it helps to know which is which. Some are for information only, some gather feedback, and some involve a vote that shapes a decision.
Meeting schedules are announced through the website, community social media and newsletters. You can also call the band office on 306-423-5900 to ask what is coming up.
Kinds of meeting
General Band Meetings
The main gathering of the membership, usually running a full day at the Elders Hall.
- Open to the membership
- Typically held at the Elders Hall
- Watch for the posted date and time
Information Sessions
Updates on one specific topic, project or program, without a decision attached.
- Focused on a single subject
- A chance to ask questions directly
Engagement Meetings
Held when Council wants to hear from members before a direction is set.
- Community discussion and feedback
- Input gathered ahead of decisions
Annual General Meetings
The yearly accounting to members on finances and departmental work.
- Financial audits presented
- Departmental reports
- Treaty Land Entitlement updates
Community Meetings
Presentations where members are asked to give input and, in some cases, to vote.
- Community input sought
- May include a vote on the matter presented
Staying informed
- Check the events calendar for scheduled meetings and community gatherings.
- Watch community social media and newsletters, where meeting notices are posted.
- Call the band office on 306-423-5900 if you are unsure whether a meeting is going ahead.
- Ask which type of meeting it is. Whether a vote is involved changes how important it is to attend in person.
